Nov, 18-2009 4:49 pm

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP – Three people were injured Sunday, Nov. 15 in an early morning accident when an SUV lost control on the White Horse Pike, according to police.

A westbound 1998 Mercury Mountaineer driven by Timothy Jackson, 31, of Atlantic City swerved out of control on a wet road surface near Chris Gaupp Drive around 5 a.m., police said.

The vehicle rotated as it crossed over the center line and struck a utility pole on the opposite side of the pike. It continued sideways striking several trees before rolling onto its side.

Jackson was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s Mainland Campus for treatment to an injury of his left shoulder.

The two passengers in the vehicle also required medical attention, police said.

Arnold Fisher, 33, of Galloway Township was transported to AtlantiCare’s City Campus for treatment to injuries of his head and face. Alexandria Warren, 19, of Atlantic City was taken to the Mainland Campus with a knee injury.

All three people in the car were wearing seatbelts, police said.

The White Horse Pike was closed for about two hours.

The accident is being investigated by Ptl. Rich Barber of the Traffic Safety Unit and Detective Chris McGinty.
