Scout conducting food drive
Absegami High School sophomore Will Flournoy will conclude a canned food drive at Absegami and Oakcrest high schools on Thursday, Nov. 26 at the Oakcrest-Absegami football game. A Boy Scout in Galloway Township Troop 76, Flournoy is making this his Eagle Scout project. The game at Absegami starts at 10 a.m. where he will have a tent set up. The food will go to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, Southern Branch. Needed items include peanut butter, tuna fish, baby foods and formula, meals in cans, powdered milk, drink mixes, spaghetti sauce, and canned fruit. Culinary Institute reception
The Culinary Institute of America of Hyde Park, N.Y., will hold an admissions reception 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30 at the Carriage House on Pitney Road in Galloway Township. The Galloway Township Business Association will hold a business-to-business networking event 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2 at the Vienna Inn on the White Horse Pike in Galloway Township. The AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland Auxiliary will hold its annual Holly Day Luncheon 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2 at the Carriage House on Pitney Road in Galloway Township. Choirs to perform at Absegami
The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey’s Performing Arts Program will present “A Holiday Choral Extravaganza: A Portrait of the Season” 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6 in Absegami High School’s Performing Arts Center off Wrangleboro Road in Galloway Township. It will feature the Stockton College Chorus; the Stockton Oratorio Society and Chorale; and choirs from Absegami High School, Charter Tech High School for the Performing Arts and Holy Spirit High School.
Middle School Book Fair
The Galloway Township Middle School will hold its annual book fair from 7:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 3-11. A variety of books will be available including middle school fiction and nonfiction, picture books, cookbooks and other adult books. Parents may attend. Toys for Tots being collected
Ireland and Old Lace in the Village Greene at Historic Smithville is collecting unwrapped toys for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program. Anyone dropping off a toy will receive 10 percent off his or her purchase and entry to win two Galloway Athletic Association registrations for the 2010 season. The deadline is Dec. 13. AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s Heart Institute Heart Heroes meet the second Tuesday of each month at AtlantiCare’s Mainland Campus.
