Suspect sought in pre-dawn Wawa robbery

ABSECON – Absecon police are investigating an unarmed robbery that occurred around 3 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 22 at the Wawa at Mill Road and New Jersey Avenue.
Police provided the following account of the incident:
A white male suspect entered the store and demanded money from the clerk as the clerk rang up an item on the register. The suspect was given an undetermined amount of cash and left the store.
The suspect was last seen running east through the parking lot of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.
He was described as being 5 feet 11inches tall and medium build, wearing a black knit hat, black and white bandana, black hooded sweatshirt, black windbreaker, running-style pants and tan-colored work boots.
A K-9 unit from the Pleasantville Police Department conducted a track of the suspect and was able to locate the knit hat, sweatshirt and bandana discarded by the suspect near the church parking lot.
The Galloway Township Police Department also assisted in the search.
