Toys for Tots collection
Donations of new, unwrapped toys may be placed in the collection box inside the reception area of City Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. weekdays until Monday, Dec. 14. The toys will be given to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves for distribution through the Toys for Tots program. Call (609) 823-7900.
Beth Judah Hanukkah bazaar
Congregation Beth Judah will hold its annual Hanukkah bazaar 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6 at 700 Swarthmore Ave. Sponsored by the Beth Judah Sisterhood, the event raises funds for youth programs and activities in the synagogue and community. Vendors include Simply Fabulous Belt Buckles, The Schnecken Connection homemade baked goods, and Lilli’s Scarves selling clothing, accessories, jewelry, gift sets and home décor. The Beth Judah Gift Shop will be open, offering Judaica and holiday items. Kosher lunch will be available, and there will be crafts, video games and face painting for kids. Parking is available. Holiday parade
The Ventnor holiday parade is set for noon Saturday, Dec. 12. Lineup begins 11:30 a.m. at the corner of Cornwall and Ventnor avenues. The parade will end at the firehouse on New Haven Avenue, where Santa Claus will greet children. Local businesses, civic groups and anyone who would like to join may sign up by calling (609) 823-7900.
New parking permits available
New 2010-2011 parking permits for those living in the 4800-5200 blocks of Ventnor are available for purchase 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday in the Code Enforcement Office at City Hall. The charge is $2 for each permit, and residents must present their vehicle registration to make the purchase. The old permits expire Dec. 31.
