Brigantine C.E.R. announces the winter program

The Brigantine Community Education and Recreation Department announces its winter 2010 program for the residents of Brigantine.
Courses to be offered on weeknight evenings starting on Monday, Jan. 11 include: Ballroom Dancing, Latin Beat, Guitar, Intro to Piano, Bridge, CPR, ESL, Watercolors, Landscape Painting, Drawing, Culinary Arts, Digital Photography and Conversational Spanish.
Increased emphasis has been placed on the fitness course offerings: Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates, Spin Class, Qigong and Shape Up.
The C.E.R. will continue to offer a financial seminar with the cooperation of Merrill Lynch Financial Services.
For Seniors Only specials include: Basic Computers, Yoga and Piano.
For Kids Only specials include: Chess for Kids and Photography for Kids.
The 2010 Concert Series will kick off on Wednesday, Jan. 13 with The Firehouse Four Band at the Brigantine North School Auditorium.
A day trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Saturday, Feb. 6 will be offered. A Broadway show trip will be offered to see “Memphis” Saturday, April 24. Tickets go on sale by telephone only on Monday, Dec. 14.
The C.E.R. will offer an eight-day trip to Costa Rica in February, a 12-day trip to Ireland and Scotland in September and a 13-day trip to South Africa and Victoria Falls in November.
The C.E.R. will also offer two different day ski trips: one to Elk Mountain, Pa. on Saturday, Jan. 23 and one to Blue Mountain, Pa. on Saturday, Feb. 20.
The following recreational activities will be offered: Indoor Soccer, High School Basketball, Adult Basketball, Adult Coed Volleyball, Elementary Basketball Clinics, Dodgeball Leagues and Badminton.
