Veterans enrollment clinic scheduled

Nov, 24-2009 1:48 pm

An enrollment clinic to help veterans determine eligibility for the VA health care system will be held 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7 at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2189 in Somers Point.

The enrollment clinic is hosted by U.S. Rep. Frank A. LoBiondo, who said it would help eligible veterans access services offered by the Veterans Administration.

Representatives from the VA will answer questions and explain enrollment eligibility and procedures, and a caseworker from LoBiondo’s office will also be on hand.

The VA has reopened enrollment to its medical benefits package for Category 8 veterans by increasing the income threshold by 10 percent. Category 8 veterans are strongly encouraged to attend and enroll.

It is recommended that veterans bring their DD-214 forms and tax forms.

For information call Bill Carson in LoBiondo’s Mays Landing office at (609) 625-5008 or (800) 471-4450.
