OCEAN CITY — The Ocean City Library plans to hold two seminars on common crimes next week.

The first presentation, set for 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, will include how to reduce risks and improve safety in or out of the home. The seminar includes how burglars, robbers and other predators select their targets, and what to do when encountering suspicious activity, according to organizers.

A second seminar on Thursday, March 23, also set for 6:30 p.m., will teach attendees how to recognize common scams and cons and how to avoid them. It shows what to do when encountering a scam via email, knock-at-the-door and phone. It also includes what to do for those who have fallen victim to scams.

Both sessions are free and will take place in Room N111 of the library, located inside the Ocean City Community Center at 1735 Simpson Ave. All are invited.
