Ocean City beach tag design

The design of the 2018 summers beach tags will be based on the OCNJ app logo, city officials said.

OCEAN CITY — Temperatures are dipping, but beachgoers can begin dreaming of summer sun.

Ocean City seasonal beach tags are now on sale for $5 off for the 2018 summer season. The price is $20 until May 31, 2018, when it increases to $25, according to a news release.

Tags are required for people age 12 and older and are valid from June 2, 2018, to Sept. 3, 2018, city officials said. The design for this year's tags will be based on the logo for the OCNJ app, according to the release.

Weekly and daily tags will go on sale June 2 on the beach and cost $10 and $5, respectively, officials said.

Fees from beach tag sales are used to offset the cost of beach maintenance and lifeguards, according to the city.

Tags can be purchased at the following locations:

  • City Hall, Ninth Street and Asbury Avenue
  • Route 52 Welcome Center
  • Henry Knight Building, 12 Street and Haven Avenue
  • Aquatic and Fitness Center, 17th Street and Simpson Avenue

Beachgoers can also buy tags online at ocnj.us/beachtags. For more information, call 609-399-6111.
