OCEAN CITY — Literacy Volunteers Association Cape-Atlantic Inc., a volunteer-based organization that provides reading, writing and English language instruction, at no charge, to adults functioning at the lowest literacy levels, will sponsor its fourth Friends of Literacy fundraiser 11 a.m to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, at a private bayside estate in Ocean City.

Realtor Nick Ochs offered his home at 250 Bay Road for the brunch.

“It is our hope to engage with the community and build on friendships and bring new stakeholders to our organization,” LVA Executive Director Pamela Grites said.

Supporters will enjoy sparkling wine from Circle Liquors, Coca-Cola refreshments, food from Yianni’s Cafe, Wards Pastry and Acme of Ocean City, along with an opportunity to experience the beauty of a 1940s stone house with 250 feet of unobstructed bay front views. Harpist Stephanie Sussmeier and the Fiddle Club, a group of young area performers, will provide entertainment.

Suggested minimum donation is $40 per person. RSVP by Thursday, Oct. 19, to Grites at pgrites@LVAcapeatlantic.org or 609-383-3377.
