Tickets are on sale now for the 2018 Summer Concert Series on the Ocean City Music Pier. This year’s complete lineup is still taking shape, but confirmed acts include The Beach Boys, Straight No Chaser, America, Get the Led Out, The Hooters and Aimee Mann.
The Beach Boys, who have played to sold-out crowds on the Ocean City Music Pier for the past three summers, will perform four shows, at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, and 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21. The tour features original member Mike Love and contributing member Bruce Johnston, along with a new band performing Beach Boys hits, according to concert promoter Bob Rose and BRE Entertainment.
The Hooters, who made their Ocean City debut last summer, will perform two shows. They will reprise hits like “All You Zombies,” “And We Danced” and “Day by Day,” and introduce newer material as well. Show time is 7 p.m. June 19 and 20.
Get the Led Out, which performs the music of Led Zeppelin, has been a staple of the Summer Concert Series for years.
Opening the summer series Monday, June 18 will be Aimee Mann, a singer-songwriter with a career that has spanned four decades as solo artist and with bands such as ‘Til Tuesday and The Young Snakes. Her hits include “Save Me” from the film “Magnolia.”
The a-cappella group Straight No Chaser are regulars on casino stages in Atlantic City and move south to Ocean City for the first time for two shows Monday, July 23.
America will reprise a string of 1970s hits that include “A Horse With No Name,” “Ventura Highway” and “Sister Golden Hair,” among others. The trio performs Monday, July 16.
