Trail of Two Cities bridge run

Proceeds from the Trail of Two Cities 5K benfit the Somers Point Foundation for Education and Ocean City children’s programs.  

The Trail of Two Cities 5K Run/Walk over the Ninth Street bridge will be held for the 22nd time Saturday, Nov. 4.

The 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) race starts 8 a.m. at the Ocean City Transportation Center near the base of the bridge in Ocean City and ends at Kennedy Park in Somers Point. The bridge will be closed to inbound vehicle traffic for the duration of the event.

Proceeds benefit the Somers Point Foundation for Education and Ocean City children’s programs.  

The registration fee is $25 in advance by mail through Oct. 28 and online through 10 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1 and includes a long-sleeved event T-shirt. 

Race-day registration is $30 and takes place 7-7:45 a.m. at the Transportation Center at 10th Street and Haven Avenue and includes a T-shirt while supplies last.

The family registration fee is $75 for members of immediate family up to four. Separate registration forms are required for each family participant. Families must preregister, and all registrations must be from the same household and mailed together.

Packets can be picked up 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3 at the Ocean City Aquatic and Fitness Center, 1735 Simpson Ave., and at the Transportation Center until 7:45 a.m. on race day.

Buses will be available 6:45 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. at the finish line in Somers Point to transport runners to Ocean City before the race and back to Ocean City after the race. The awards ceremony will be held at JFK Park after all participants have completed the course.

Awards will go to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as the top male and female runners in the following age groups: 8-and-under, 9-11,12-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 and over.

No pets, bikes, skateboards or roller blades are permitted. The event will be held rain or shine.
