OCEAN CITY — The Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce will present its annual “Citizen of the Year” award to a pair of local veterans groups.

American Legion Post 524 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6650 will receive the award Tuesday night at a dinner at the Flanders Hotel, the chamber said in a news release.

“The Chamber recognizes the members of these two valuable organizations that have given so much by serving our great country, maintaining our freedom, and serving our community through wonderful causes such as the American Legion’s Annual Run for the Fallen and the VFW’s Buddy Baldwin Memorial Scholarship for the Trades,” the organization said in a statement.

Other honors to be presented at the chamber’s dinner include awards for business improvement, outstanding landscaping, outstanding new business and outstanding service to the community.

Liberty Escape Rooms Ocean City, CubZero Ice Cream, Peace of Wood, and Rock Tackle will receive the “Outstanding New Business” award, according to the release.

The organization said Sun Rose Words and Music will be honored with “Outstanding Service to the Community Award” for the volunteer efforts of the shop’s owners, Rosalyn Lifshin and Nancy Miller.
