OCEAN CITY — The Ocean City Police Department responded to 653 calls per service, an average of 93 calls per day, in the week of March 12-18. The department supplied the following blotter information for the week:

Sunday, March 12: 70 calls for service, 26 motor vehicle stops, 33 property checks, two alarms, three fire calls and two EMS calls

Monday, March 13: 53 calls for service, 18 vehicle stops, 19 property checks, six fire calls and five EMS calls

Tuesday, March 14: 69 calls for service, eight vehicle stops, 39 property checks, two alarms, four fire calls and three EMS calls

Domestic violence, 1100 block of West Avenue, at 3:58 p.m.

Wednesday, March 15: 70 calls for service, 21 vehicle stops, one accident, 13 property checks, four alarms, nine fire calls and nine EMS calls

Thursday, March 16: 105 calls for service, 35 vehicle stops, 34 property checks, one alarm, eight fire calls and 12 EMS calls

Public service announcements:

Parking is prohibited on Asbury Avenue 6th St to 12th St, North St. to 17th St., Eighth St. the entire length and Ninth St., the entire length between the hours of 2am and 7am. This is to allow the City to perform maintenance during off peak hours. City Ordinance 7-3.4 Schedule II. The exception is Sundays and Holidays.

When traveling on the Route 52 causeway, New Jersey state law requires vehicles to keep right and pass left. The speed limit on the bridge is 45 mph.

Bicycle riders must obey all motor vehicle laws similar to the driver of a motor vehicle. They must stop at stop signs, traffic lights and ride with the flow of traffic. Riders are not pedestrians and do not have the same right of way as a pedestrian when crossing the street at an intersection.

It is a violation of a city ordinance to have dogs on the boardwalk at any time of the year.
