PLEASANTVILLE – Police arrested a boy, 14, Monday morning after he barricaded himself into a home for three hours on Somerset Avenue.

Police responded to a call at 3 a.m. Monday morning of a teen boy in possession of a handgun. The teen refused to come out of the home but surrendered to the Atlantic County SWAT team at 6:30 a.m., Capt. Matt Hartman said.0

As of 8:30 a.m. police were still on the scene searching for a weapon.

Neighbors on the block said they were told by police to stay in their homes Monday morning during the standoff.

Hartman said the teenager is currently being questioned at the Pleasantville Police Department.
