The main pond at the Cape May County Park on Route 9 in Cape May Court House has been drained, as shown Wednesday, to allow excavating equipment better access to remove tons of built-up sediment for the pond’s restoration. The project is funded by a $500,000 grant through the state Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, under the federal Clean Water Act. The dredge spoil material is being used to build a berm on the park property adjacent to Dennisville Road.
