Restaurant Week preview to feature desserts by Pellegrino

NORTHFIELD – Harrah's executive pastry chef Deborah Pellegrino will provide desserts for A Taste of Atlantic City Restaurant Week, an exclusive preview event 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28 at the Atlantic City Country Club here.

Pellegrino, a graduate of the Academy of Culinary Arts in at Atlantic Cape Community College, won the Food Network's "Chocolate Myths" competition last July on the “Food Network Challenge” TV show. She combines an art background with pastry baking to create whimsical desserts such as pastries made to look like evening bags.

The event will preview some of the restaurants that are participating in Restaurant Week, while raising funds for area charities. Tickets are $35 and include the tasting and music by the six-piece Entourage Band; there will be a cash bar. Restaurants will serve some items that will be on their Restaurant Week menu as well as specialties from their regular menu.


 

Proceeds benefit Community FoodBank of New Jersey Southern Branch, Court Appointed Special Advocates, the Alcove and the Atlantic City Convention and Visitors Authority Foundation.

Atlantic City Restaurant Week will be held March 4-10, with more than 60 of Atlantic County's finest restaurants serving fixed-price three-course meals; lunches are $15.12 and dinners are $33.12, excluding beverage and tip.
