Historic Preservation Society of Upper Township general meeting 7 p.m. at the Upper Township Branch of the Cape May County Library. Refreshments followed by the meeting. The speaker will be Kimball Baker who is one of the group of residents who rallied together to preserve the Ocean City Life-Saving Station on site.  He will bring copies of the book that he wrote about the station. Wednesday, July 18

Guest Author and Speaker Vince Papale will visit the Avalon Free Public Library at 7 p.m. in the Avalon Elementary School auditorium. Vince and his wife, Janet Cantwell-Papale, will be talking about their book, Be "Invincible! A Playbook for Reaching Your Full Potential." No tickets are required for the Papale lecture and the event is open to the public. Seating will be on a first-come-first served basis, beginning at 6 p.m. Vince and Janet will be available following the lecture to sign books only.
