William Ris Gallery issues a call to birders

STONE HARBOR -  Ever since there were birds, artists have been inspired to capture the dramatic color, variety and habitats in which these feathered friends live.

Southern New Jersey settings offer unique living conditions to fall’s migrating birds.

The local environs include fresh, salt and brackish waters where these winged creatures can feed and rest.

Painters following this part of the long trip include David Ahlsted, Robert Barrett, Dottie Berner, Jane Hartley, Ron Orlando, Paula Waterman and Valerie Waywell, whose work will be hanging in the William Ris Gallery, 9400 Second Avenue, Stone Harbor, through mid-October. The gallery is open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. daily. For information call 609-368-6361 or see This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
