Fright on the Fairways 6-10:30 p.m. Oct. 18-21 at the Mays Landing Golf and Country Club, 1855 Cates Road, Mays Landing. The Fraser family invites brave souls find out what strange creatures come out on the fairways at night by taking a haunted hayride. Tickets are $10 for all ages. Supports area school art programs. Family friendly Hayrides 6-9 p.m. Oct. 19, 20, 24, 25, 26, 27, 29 and 30 at Birch Grove Park. The price is $4 per person and includes a treat after the ride from the Friends of Birch Grove Park. Groups of 25 or more are welcome to enjoy the hayride, but large groups are by appointment only. Call (609) 641-3778.

Halloween Parade and Party for children 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 at the Northfield Public Library, 241 West Mill Road. Halloween craft, read a story, play a game, and parade outside. Trunk or Treat 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 at the Knights of Columbus, 243 St. Louis Ave., Egg Harbor City. Absecon Lighthouse Haunted Tours 5, 6, 7, and 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27  at the lighthouse, 31 S. Rhode Island Ave., Atlantic City. Visit the Absecon Lighthouse to hear the "true" ghost stories that prompted a visit from SyFy's “Ghost Hunters.”  Refreshments will be provided.  Tickets are $20. Reservations are required. Scary Animal Show 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 and Costumed Dive Show 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 28 at the Atlantic City Aquarium in Historic Gardner's Basin, Atlantic City. Second annual Kid-Friendly Haunted House 4-7 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 28 at the Ocean City Repertory, 813 Asbury Ave., Ocean City. Cost is $5 per child. Halloween pet costume contest 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28 at Pets Plus, 4450 Black Horse Pike, Mays Landing. Dress up your pet (any kind of animal) for a chance to win a Pets Plus gift card. The only thing you have to do is dress up your pet, bring them in, and find a judge to snap a picture and you are entered to win. Open to any pet. Call (609) 625-7639.
