Altobelli, Doughty, Hoff nominated for Business Person of the Year

The Middle Township Chamber of Commerce has announced the 2012 nominees for its Business Person of the Year award, to be given Friday, March 30 at the Stone Harbor Golf Club.

The nominees are recognized for their business successes and for their contributions to the public and the business community. This year’s nominees are:

Louis Altobelli, the owner-operator of Rio Auto Body and five other auto-related businesses in Cape May and Atlantic counties. The businesses employ 83 people year-round. Altobelli has served on the Middle Township Chamber board of directors since 2001, as chairman of the Public Policy Committee and the “Welcome to Middle Township” sign project, which resulted in two welcome signs in Cape May Court House and Rio Grande. He currently serves on the board of Atlantic Cape Community College and is a past board member and president of the Cape May Court House Kiwanis Club. He supports more than 18 local youth and citizen organizations.

F. Nathan Doughty who owns and operates Pine Lake Nursery in Cape May Court House with his wife Patty. Doughty served on Township Committee for 15 years as deputy mayor and mayor, initiating many programs focused on youth recreation, according to the chamber. He expanded the Goshen Sports Complex to include an indoor baseball training facility, a skateboard park and a street hockey rink. His nursery locates and donates the tree for the township’s Christmas festivities each year. Doughty currently serves on the board of directors of Sturdy Savings Bank.

Nichol Hoff, vice president and manager of Sun National Bank’s Rio Grande branch. She has served on the board of directors of the Middle Township Chamber of Commerce since 2007 and is the current treasurer. She has donated many hours in chamber activities and served as the chairwoman of the membership directory. Hoff works with the Atlantic County Women’s Group and Somers Point Business Association. She works as a fitness trainer at numerous fitness centers in the area.
