Artists presented for Labor Day weekend

STONE HARBOR – Ocean Galleries will host two artists for a Labor Day weekend exhibition: Viktor Shvaiko and Thomas Stiltz.  “Wine and Romance - the Evocative Images of Viktor Shvaiko and Thomas Stiltz” runs Friday, Aug, 29 through Sunday, Aug. 31.

 Guests will have the opportunity to meet the two artists at receptions taking place in the Stone Harbor gallery from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The exhibit is free and open to the public, with all artwork available for purchase.

‘Aladdin and his Magical Lamp’ production planned in Stone Harbor

STONE HARBOR – The public is invited to a musical presentation of “Aladdin and his Magical Lamp,” at the Stone Harbor Elementary School auditorium at 275 93rd St., Aug. 22, 23, and 24 at 7 p.m. A matinee performance is scheduled Saturday, Aug. 23 at 2 p.m. 

Join 22 students, 6-14 years old, as they transform the school’s auditorium into the Kingdom of Baldroubadour for the musical production.

CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE - The public is invited to “Great Balls of Fire,” a production planned at 7 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 23 at the Performing Arts Center, featuring the violin mother daughter team of Susan and Amina Elsayed, along with Linda Gentille and The Jersey Shore Pops.

“Amina and her mother both have amazing stage charisma in addition to fabulous technique,” said Gentille. “How they bounce all over the stage while playing amazing technical feats astounds me.”

Fiocchi schedules visit to Cape May Court House

CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – In an effort to reach out to residents within District 1, Assemblyman Sam Fiocchi has announced that he will make his third monthly visit to the Cape May County Administration Building at 4 Moore Road in Cape May Court House.

Fiocchi and his staff will be available to meet with the public on Thursday, Aug. 14 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in room G128.

The public is invited to meet with the legislator about current issues, as well as to offer ideas and suggestions.

Featured in the cast are Tony Sands as Frank Sinatra; Johnny Petillo as Dean Martin and Geno Monroe as Sammy Davis Jr.

Festival of Lights slated in Stone Harbor

STONE HARBOR – The Festival of Lights will return to the borough after nearly 40 years at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 9, departing from the Yacht Club of Stone Harbor.

Participants in the parade as well as bay front property owners are encouraged to decorate boats and property for the event.

‘Disco diva dance’ planned at Avalon Golf Club

CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE - The public is invited to a “disco diva ball” dinner and dance at 6 p.m., Friday, Aug. 15 at the Avalon Golf Club, 1510 North Route 9, Cape May Court House.

The event will feature a three-course dinner while a DJ spins disco and ballroom records for the crowd.

“But a few of our musicians will also perform through the evening,” said Pops Conductor Linda Gentille.
