Branches of county library hosts painting session

CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – Children five to 12 are invited to learn more about painting at one of two sessions to be presented by Artists on the Rocks at different branches of the county library.

Pancake breakfast planned for Turtle Fest

The public is invited to a pancake breakfast on Saturday, April 4, to celebrate Turtle Fest at the Wetlands Institute, 1075 Stone Harbor Boulevard.

To accommodate a larger audience, four seatings for the breakfast are planned at 9, 10, 10:45 and 11:30 a.m.

Dance to benefit Scouts planned in Avalon, Upper Township

A number of dances for adults to benefit scouting in South Jersey are planned at the Upper Township Community Center and Avalon Community Hall throughout the year.

Dances at the community center will be held from 7:30-10 p.m., Saturdays March 28, May 23, June 27, and July 25.

‘Romantic’ and ‘Viennese’ concerts scheduled this summer

AVALON - The public is invited to two free concerts this summer presented by the Bay-Atlantic Symphony at Avalon Elementary School, 235 32nd St., as part of the Symphony by the Sea series.

On Saturday, July 18 at 7 p.m., the orchestra will present “Isn’t It Romantic,” with a selection by Dvorak, featuring cellist Christine Lamprea, and music by Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov.

Muscians invited to jam at the library

CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE - Musicians are invited to join “Jamming at the Library”  at the Cape May County Library, 30 W. Mechanic St., at 6 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 12, presented by Dan Smith.

The jam will continue on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at the same time.

'The Nutcracker' at Middle Township PAC

Rehearsal before a performance of “The Nutcracker” at the Middle Township Performing Arts Center, Sunday, Nov. 23 Rehearsal before a performance of “The Nutcracker” at the Middle Township Performing Arts Center, Sunday, Nov. 23 The New Jersey Ballet Company holds an informal rehearsal of the first act of “The Nutcracker” before their performance Sunday, Nov. 23, in the Middle Township Performing Arts Center.  This was the 21st year of the performance at the PAC.  Allison Ivan, 17, plays Clara who receives a nutcracker from Drosselmeyer, her godfather and toymaker.  The Andrew Notarile plays Drosselmeyer’s newphew as well as the nutcracker prince.  Together the prince and Clara with the help of toy soldiers battle the mice led by the Mouse King.
