Healthy soups, stews program Jan. 12

CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – The Cape May County Library invites the public to attend the demonstration, “Cape Cuisine: Healthy Soups and Stews,” Saturday, Jan. 12.

Chef Mark Kalla will present the program starting at 1 p.m. at the main library at 30 West Mechanic St. in Cape May Court House.

Kalla will demonstrate how to prepare slow-cooking winter foods, show how to trim fat and keep the flavor of soups and stews. 

Participants will be invited to sample prepared foods.

Kalla is the head chef at Green Cuisine Restaurant in Stone Harbor. He runs the Avalon Elementary School cafeteria and teaches culinary instruction to children during the summer.

This program is free. Space is limited, so registration is required.
