Guardsman injured at armory

MIDDLE TOWNSHIP – An Army National Guardsman had to be airlifted after a garage door collapsed on him in Cape May Court House April 15.

Middle Township Police say a military vehicle being backed into a garage at the 253rd New Jersey Army National Guard facility hit the partially opened garage door, causing the door to fall.

The guardsman was flown to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, city division. The police report did not include the man’s name.

Middle Township Police Patrol Division and station commander of the Army facility are continuing to investigate the incident.

The facility is at 600 Garden State Parkway in Cape May Court House.
