Dems do well in MTHS mock vote

CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – Middle Township High School students voted in a mock election last week.

President Barack Obama took 59 percent of the vote against Republican Mitt Romney; U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez won by 60 percent; and U.S. Rep. Frank LoBiondo received 53 percent of the vote.

In the local races, Jeff Sutherland received 58 percent of the vote for Cape May County Surrogate against Cape May County Freeholder Susan Sheppard; and Cape May County Freeholder candidate Walter Deegan won by 60 percent against incumbent freeholder Leonard Desiderio.

The results were listed in the school’s daily announcements for Tuesday.
