A man died following a head-on vehicle crash Wednesday along Route 47 in Goshen, according to Middle Township Police.

Police on Thursday weren't releasing the name of the man who died or where he lived. They say charges are pending against the other driver, Robert J. Demarco, 29, of Williamstown.

According to police, a black Dodge Charger driven by Demarco was travelling north on Route 47, left the northbound lane and struck a Ford Taurus heading south.

Police received calls of the crash around 5 p.m. Nov. 7.

Cape May Court House and Goshen fire companies responded to the scene, and extricated the driver from the Taurus.

Middle Township Emergency Medical Services and medics from AtlantiCare medic 9 transported the driver to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City. The driver was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Demarco was treated at Cape Regional Medical Center in Middle Township for minor injuries.

A witness on scene indicated the Charger traveled north on Route 47 from the Rio Grande area.

The police department is looking for people who may have seen a black Dodge Charger travelling north on Route 47 around 5 p.m. Nov. 7.

The Cape May County Prosecutor’s Fatal Crash Unit responded to the scene, and is assisting Middle Township Major Crime detectives with the investigation.
