Golf tournament raises $25,000 for Atlantic Cape students

CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – The 2012 Atlantic Cape Community College Scramble ‘Fore’ Scholarships golf tournament raised more than $25,000 for student aid and Foundation operations.

The tournament drew more than 100 players Oct. 12 at Cape May National Golf Club in Cape May.

Atlantic Cape student Zuleika Delgado of Cape May Court House, and alumna Nikki Nichols of Woodbine, delivered speeches describing how receiving Atlantic Cape Foundation scholarships have transformed their lives.

Proceeds from the event will be used for scholarships for students attending Atlantic Cape and for Foundation operations.

Caesars Entertainment, Cape May National Golf Club, the Chalfonte Hotel, McMahon Agency and Financial Services Inc., RPO Realtors, Cooper Levenson Attorneys at Law and The NIA Group Insurance & Financial Services were major sponsors of the tournament.

Atlantic Cape’s Foundation has raised more than $2.5 million for scholarships, Foundation operations and to enhance academic programs and the campus environment. Annually, the Foundation provides $270,000 for institutional scholarships, grants and emergency help and another $70,000 to support college educational endeavors.
