Votes from the General Election are still being counted in Cape May County.

The deadline for results to be certified throughout the state has been extended to Nov. 21 in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, as ordered by Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno.

In an announcement Thursday morning, Cape May County Clerk Rita Marie Fulginiti said 92 mail-in ballots have been included in the county’s unofficial election results.

“These ballots were received by both electronic means and by mail in the Board of Elections Office after Election Day as permitted by Executive Order,” she said.

Fulginiti urged people to remain patient. Election Day was Nov. 6.

“There remains the possibility of receipt of additional Mail-In Ballots which were postmarked by election and delivered by US Mail up to November 19,” she said.

More provisional ballots from Cape May County residents who cast their ballots in other counties will be added by the week’s end, Fulginiti said.

“We will also be posting the detail of the personal choice or ‘write in’ votes cast in the various races,” she said.

Unofficial results are available here.
