Walters named first VP for town league

STONE HARBOR – Mayor Suzanne M. Walters has been chosen as the first vice president of the New Jersey League of Municipalities.

She will help guide the association and will represent the interests and needs of elected officials to county, state and federal governments. The league includes the state’s 566 municipalities.

Walters previously served as the second vice president.

She has been Stone Harbor mayor since 1997. She is a member of the state Council on Affordable Housing.

Mayor Walters is involved in numerous civic, religious and charitable groups in Cape May County, including the Cape May Regional Medical Center Foundation and Cape May County Chamber of Commerce.

She holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration from St. Joseph’s University of Pennsylvania. She has three children and five grandchildren.
