Car slams into repair shop

MIDDLE TOWNSHIP – Police say a Lower Township woman was intoxicated when she crashed her car into Art’s Auto Service in Green Creek early Thursday morning.

Sara Grossman, 24, of Villas, was not injured when she hit the building, but the garage sustained major damage, according to police.

She was traveling north on Route 47 when she attempted to make a left turn onto Bay Shore road and her 2005 Chevrolet Equinox went off the road and struck the building, police say.

Middle Township Police responded at 2 a.m. to the report of a crash at Art’s Auto Service and found the vehicle unoccupied.

Grossman was charged with driving while intoxicated and other motor vehicle offenses. She was processed at the Middle Township Police station and later released on a summons, according to police.
