MIDDLE TOWNSHIP – Police have released a sketch of a man they say tried to lure two boys into his truck in two separate incidents earlier this week.

As of Thursday afternoon, police released further detail of one of the incidents, including the age of the juvenile. According to police, the suspect made sexually explicit remarks and advances to 17-year-old boy in Middle Township earlier at about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday on East Shell Bay Avenue.

The suspect is described as white, 40 to 55 years old, gray hair, 5 foot, 9 inches to 5 foot, 11 inches, 180-200 pounds, with a medium to heavy build, wearing a jean jacket or vest, blue jeans and black shoes.

The vehicle is described as a light gold Chevrolet Silverado 1500, with New Jersey plates.

Police say the man had similar characteristics to a suspect from an incident that happened on Tuesday. A boy was walking in Whitesboro to a school bus stop when a man approached in a pickup truck and offered him a ride, according to police.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Middle Township Police Major Crimes Unit at 465-8700, or the Cape May County Crime Stoppers at 465-2800.
