Middle Township Police say they have charged a 13 year old boy who brought an Airsoft pistol to school with unlawful possession of a weapon.

When the Sig Sauer P226 Airsoft pistol was discovered, the Middle Township Middle School was placed on lockdown, and police responded in force, not knowing if it was a pellet-firing Airsoft gun or a firearm.

Police have not released the boy’s name. He is in eighth grade. Police say he was originally said to be 12 years old, but he is 13.
