Series of charges filed after crash in Peebles lot

RIO GRANDE — A West Wildwood woman has been charged with driving under the influence and 2nd degree child endangerment, after crashing into a parked vehicle and striking a support column at the Rio Grande Plaza Shopping Center, Middle Township police said Wednesday.

According to Police, Jacquelyn Dunbar, 26, was driving a gray Toyota Camry through the parking lot in front of Peebles department store on March 18 when she lost control of her car and struck a concrete curb before veering into a support column. Police report that her 2-year-old daughter restrained in a child car seat in the back seat at the time.

Police said Dunbar then backed up and struck a parked vehicle in the lot, before driving forward and striking the same support column.

Police responding to the scene allegedly found two empty heroin packets inside Dunbar's vehicle.

Dunbar was treated and released for minor injuries at Cape Regional Medical Center.

According to a police press release, she was charged with driving while intoxicated, 2nd degree child endangerment, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless driving, driving while suspended, and uninsured driver.

Dunbar is being held at the county jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
