STONE HARBOR – A local Realtor may have lost an opportunity to sell a Third Avenue home after a second-floor deck collapsed, plastering him and two potential buyers with the debris.

On Wednesday, April 2, a passerby pulled his vehicle to the side of the road next to a vacant home on Third Avenue near 92nd Street after he saw a first-floor deck collapse with three people on it.

The collapse apparently had a cascade effect, and the second-floor deck also fell. According to police reports, the Good Samaritan pulled the victims free of the rubble and then called 911.

Borough police, rescue and firefighters responded.

The victims, who were identified by officials only as a Realtor and two prospective buyers, reported injuries to their shoulders, arms and legs. Two people were transported to the Cape Regional Medical Center for treatment, while the third was released at the scene.

None of the injuries were life-threatening, police said.
