RIO GRANDE – Police have released video of what appears to be a brazen theft from the Kmart this week.

It shows two men loading two boxed televisions into a blue Ford Expedition in broad daylight on Wednesday, April 2, Middle Township police said Friday, and then drove away from a department store in Rio Grande.

On Friday, Capt. John Edwards posted a video to the police Facebook page seeking information on two suspects who he said stole two 42-inch LED televisions from Kmart.

“I think these two guys in the video are pretty recognizable,” Edwards said on Friday. “Especially with that blue Expedition.”

According to police, one of the suspects loaded the televisions into a cart and pushed them into the Garden Center, where there is a door but no cash register. The other suspect left the store and parked a Ford Expedition outside Kmart’s Garden Center exit. In the video, two men can be seen loading televisions into an Expedition.

Edwards said the video was provided to police by store security.

According to the Facebook post: “The video is pretty clear so it should not take too long for our Facebook Fans to find these two mopes.”

Edwards said that Cape May Crime Stoppers has offered a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspects.
