RIO GRANDE – A Rio Grande man is in jail on charges of aggravated assault and possession of drugs after he fled a police officer who recognized him near a hotel on Route 47, police said in a statement released on Wednesday, May 7.

Jesse Daisey, 20, was near the Off Shore Hotel on Friday, May 2 at 10 a.m. in Rio Grande when he was spotted by Middle Township Patrolman Len Larkin.

According to Capt. John Edwards, Larkin knew that Daisey was wanted on a bench warrant in North Wildwood.

Daisey was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, and possession of drugs with the intent to distribute.
