MIDDLE TOWNSHIP— Middle Township Police administered Narcan for the first time Friday, July 18 in the Burleigh section of the township, the department announced.

Around 4 p.m., police responded to a call that there was a 20-year-old woman unconscious as a result of a possible drug overdose on Pershing Avenue.

Patrolman John Norton administered Narcan to her and she later gained consciousness. She was transported by Middle Township EMS to Cape MayRegionalMedicalCenter and is listed in stable condition, police said.

The Middle Township Police Department Patrol Division started carrying Narcan last week after all officers were trained. The Narcan kits were supplied by Cape May County Prosecutor Robert Taylor.
