RIO GRANDE – A man who allegedly robbed the Bank of America in Rio Grande Saturday, Aug. 9, was caught in Atlantic City Sunday when law enforcement found him walking on Ohio Avenue, police said.

Clifford Ginyard, 29, Rio Grande, lived in the mobile park about a block away from the bank, said Middle Township Police Capt. John Edwards.

The unarmed man escaped with about $1,000, after handing a teller at the bank a note demanding money, police said.

The alleged thief fled the bank, and was last seen walking south on 4th Street.

Middle Township quickly posted a video of the robbery on social media, asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect.

“Our detectives, along with the prosecutor’s office and the NJ Transit Police assisted us in searching for him,” Edwards said.

“They found him walking down the street in Atlantic City.”

Edwards said Ginyard was charged with 1st degree robbery and lodged in the county jail.

Bail has been set at $100,000, he said.
