CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – Cape May County Zoo was recently honored by TripAdvisor.com when it received a certificate of excellence from the website, and was ranked 15th in the country, just behind metropolitan zoos such as the San Diego Zoo, according to a press release.

“We have an enormous amount of pride in our zoo,” said Freeholder E. Marie Hayes, liaison to the zoo.

“It may be considered small by zoo standards, but it holds a large place in the hearts of those who visit and is evident by the ranking earned by the respondents to the TripAdvisor survey.”

According to the press release, an audit of the reviews of the zoo on the website show that there have been at least two 5-star reviews posted online every day during the summer.

“I am very proud of the continued accomplishments at the Cape May County Park and Zoo,” said Michael Laffey, director of Operations for Cape May County.

“The park and zoo staff has done an amazing job of showcasing the county’s jewel.  The national recognition the zoo has received over the past several years is extremely impressive.”

The zoo is open year round, except Christmas day. For more information call 609-465-5271, or see www.capemaycountygov.net .
