Police: Man smacks 13-year-old girl’s bottom in Stone Harbor Wawa

STONE HARBOR – A Philadelphia man has been charged with criminal sexual contact after he smacked a 13-year-old girl’s bottom as she entered a convenience store, Stone Harbor police said Monday.

Francis William Dunn, 42, allegedly grabbed the buttocks of several female customers while at the Wawa Food Market, at 9404 Third Ave., at about 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, according to a police statement.

The girl was entering the store with her family when Dunn smacked her, according to a police report. Police say he was intoxicated.

Patrolman David Hartzell responded to the scene, where both witnesses and victims directed the officer to Dunn, who was leaning against a vehicle on the 200 block of 94th Street, police said.

According to the statement, the vehicle belong to one of the victims.

None of the victims knew Dunn, police said.

Dunn was arrested at the scene and taken into custody.

A warrant was authorized by Judge John Fowler, and Dunn was charged with: criminal sexual contact, a third degree crime; and endangering the welfare of a child, a fourth degree crime. Dunn was also charged on a summons with harassment and disorderly conduct.

Bail was set at $50,000, all cash.

The matter is pending review by the county prosecutor’s office.
