4-Hers looking forward to 10th anniversary

CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – The Cape May County’s 4-H Horse Program will celebrate 10 years of fundraising for St. Jude Children’s Hospital with an afternoon trail ride, potluck dinner and festivities on Sunday, Nov. 11.

The ride will leave from the Crooked Horn Gunning Club in Belleplain at 1 p.m.

4-Hers have set their fundraising goal this year at $5,000. Last year, riders raised more than $4,300, bringing the nine year total to $20,115.

Entry forms and sponsorship sheets are available at the Rutgers Cooperative Extension Office, at 355 Courthouse-South Dennis Road and at www.capemaycountygov.net.

Riders must provide their own horses, and safety helmets are required.

The trail ride entry fee is $25 if paid before Nov. 11 and $40 the day of the ride.

Riders are encouraged to get additional sponsorships.

People can donate at www.stjude.org/saddleup.

The Crooked Horn Gunning Club is in Belleplain, off of Chestnut St.

Participants are asked to bring a covered dish, dessert or drinks for the potluck.

The 4-H Youth Development Program is part of Rutgers Cooperative Extension.

The rain date is Sunday, Nov. 18.
