Staff honored for work during storm

MIDDLE TOWNSHIP – School officials recognized workers who helped at the emergency shelter at Middle Township Elementary No. 2 School because of Hurricane Sandy.

Those who came to the Nov. 15 Board of Education meeting received certificates.

 “You went above and beyond the call of duty,” Superintendent Michael Kopakowski said.

Recognized in the transportation department were Maria Grohe, Kim Day, Lena Rhoda, James Dougherty, Scott Simpkins, Robert Bemis, Travis Day, Donna Farrington, Dan Simpson, Anna Muchler and Francis Fiore.

Food service workers Deloris Howell and Linda Collins were also honored.

Custodial, maintenance and ground personnel who were honored include Lynn Frech, Harry Smith, Charles Berrian, Stanley Bogan, Gary Coleman, Tim Day, Sandy Flynn, Charles Hengstler, Lisa Hickman, Ivan Sota, Frank Stackhouse, Kirby Stiltner, Ronald Stites, Davis Urquhart, Fred Voekler, Barbara Walsh, Taz Harris and Michael Law.
