Sam Sam

Sam first came to the Cape May County Animal Shelter and Adoption Center in November of 2010. He was an anxious 3 year old who was scared of his surroundings. Shelter employees do not know what happened to him before he came to the shelter but they did know he had no training and was very submissive.

When the employees originally tried to take Sam’s picture he would not come out of the pen and hid behind the animal attendant who brought him out. Despite his fearful behavior he was sweet and lovable once he warmed up to people.  Sam was eventually adopted in January of 2011 but was returned to the shelter on Oct. 15.  The reason given was Sam was becoming just a little too much for the new owner to handle. This previous owner did say, though, that Sam is housebroken, sleeps in his crate, does not jump fences and would do best with older children. Sam is going to need is someone with patience and perseverance to give him the training and guidance he needs, according to those at the shelter. Sam’s adoption fee is $95 and he is up-to-date with routine shots and neutered.
