CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – Throughout February, reduced cat adoption fees will be offered at the Cape May County Animal Shelter and Adoption Center.

The Animal Shelter has more than 200 cats. Reducing adoption prices is part of “Feline Frenzy February.”

"The Cape May County Animal Shelter and Adoption Center needs to make room for the influx of cats and kittens that inevitably arrive at the shelter in the spring, so, we hope to increase cat adoptions with this promotion in February,” said Freeholder Leonard Desiderio.

From Feb. 1-12, in honor of President Abraham Lincoln's birthday, cat adoption fees will be $12; Feb.-13-19 the cost will be $14; Feb. 20-28 the fee will be $22 in honor of President George Washington's birthday; and Feb. 29 the cost will be $29 in celebration of leap year.

Cat adoptions include spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, cat carrier, a Hartz Kitty Caster toy and PetSmart coupons worth $160 plus a free vet visit.

Cape May County Animal Shelter and Adoption Center is in the Crest Haven Complex at 110 Shelter Road in Cape May Court House.

The facility is open seven days a week for adoptions from noon-4 p.m. Also, cats from the shelter are available for adoption at the PetSmart store in Rio Grande.
