The Coast Guard rescued two jet skiers Sunday, Aug. 10 who became stranded near Brigantine.

Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City in Egg Harbor Township received a report at 1:30 p.m. of two women who became stranded after running their jet ski into shallow water marshlands north of Sand Thorofare, about 1 mile west of Brigantine.

An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station Atlantic City responded, lowering a rescue swimmer and hoisting both women to safety.

The women were flown to Air Station Atlantic City, located at Atlantic City International Airport, where they were picked up by a family member, according to a Coast Guard news release.

Both women declined medical assistance.
