"Her Sky Cowboy" book launch reception

The Brigantine branch of the Atlantic County Library System, 201 15th Street South, will hold a book launch reception 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7. Join award-winning local author Beth Ciotta to celebrate the release of "Her Sky Cowboy," the first in her steampunk series "The Glorious Victorious Darcys."

Writing a novel from idea to submission

The library will host “Writing a Novel: From Idea to Submission” 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14. The program is open to adults and registration is required.

Brigantine’s own Diana Crosby, acclaimed author of "The MacGruders" series, will discuss how to get started and what to do when the writing is finished, along with other questions about the writing process.

Veterans Day movie event          

The library will offer a Veterans Day Movie Event: "Prisoners of War Break Out!" 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15. The free event is open to the first 35 people to arrive, ages 18 and older. Attendees are welcome to bring their own take-out. Pizza will be available for $3. Beverage, utensils and dessert are provided.

Steve McQueen and James Garner star in this 1963 movie about the true story of 76 Allied airmen who escaped from Germany’s most infamous P.O.W. camp in 1945. The movie’s running time is 172 minutes.
