Picnic, scholarships on Sons of Italy menu

Jackson Steele Weidner received a scholarship of $2,000, accepted for him by his grandmother, Carol Mooney. Logan Kesel was given the Rita Campitelli Award of $2,500. Accepting the award are her mother, Joyce Kesel, and Irene Masino, her grandmother. Joe and Michael Mandes each received the Paul and Margret Savino Award in the amount of $2,000. Accepting the award are their parents, Jay and Julie Mandes, and their grandparents, Mike and Ann Ricca. The Sons of Italy held its annual summer picnic Saturday, Aug. 31 at the bocce courts, where they presented scholarships.
