Due to the holiday we have a short recap for the games this week. On Tuesday the Irish Pub buried Keates-Plum 14-7. Bob Koch for the Irish Pub had a great game pitching and at bat. Chris Hemberger did it once again going 3-3 at bat and another inside-the-park home run. Chris, you have some serious speed! Keates-Plum were short a couple players and Kristie Wontroba took a bullet to the head running to first base. Hope you’re OK, Kristie!

The second game consisted of Primal bulldozing Ransome Cat. The Cat looked pretty tired and made a lot of errors and, unfortunately, Primal shows no mercy. Carrie Lloyd for Primal came up to the plate with bases loaded and had a two RBI double from a monster hit! Andy Newcomer played a phenomenal third base and his batting average is pretty high! Guess you’ll be making the all-stars this year! Bill Hedendorf also had some serious hits that took Primal up a couple runs. Linda Davoli gets the MVP for Ransome Cat proving that no matter what age, she can still play better than most out there! Linda held down second base and had some great hits.

The VFW showed Mad Dog Morgan’s what they are all about, winning 13-3. You won’t find the same names from the VFW this week; what you will find are the teammates who were 7 for 13 at bat. Every run and RBI except two came from all the sleepers on the team: AJ Faltyn, Jason Giggity Gates, John Kunicki, Tommy Bordonaro, Candi Dean, Liesje Cardillo and Dan the Rated R Superstar. Jack Bordonaro and Dave Crawford provided the additional two runs. Mad Dog’s may not have scored a lot at bat but their fielding was great. Cory Perkins had some great outfield catches, preventing all the big shots on the VFW from advancing. Dale Woods also had some great hits for Mad Dog’s as well.

I would just like to thank Jack Bordonaro for all his help and hard work throughout the season so far. MVP of the league! Remember, statistics is what will get players into the all-stars game this year.  Also, non-divisional play starts in two weeks and I’m hoping the B League comes after the A League is ready to take their pride away!
