Eye Eye

These dry eyes tend to resolve within three months. Seldom does it last six months. The corneal nerves should regenerate by that time.

Short term punctual plugs are a viable option. The incidence of the dry eye after Lasik is higher in women. Also, the use of preservative tears, gels and nighttime ointments are good for dry eye factors.

The nerves cut in the cornea causes loss of corneal sensation that can last for up to 18 months. Goblet cells are often damaged which lead to a less stable tear layer. Also, the shape of the cornea has been changed which affects the distribution of tears over the cornea.
