Brigantine Elks – New officers announced, Lodge restoration continues

Elks Elks

I hope last week's column helped to eliminate the confusion surrounding elections. As it turns out, now it's just a moot point. Since none of the open positions were contested, there is no need for elections.

Therefore, here are your new officers-elect and appointed: Exalted Ruler Rich Poole, Esteemed Leading Knight Ken DeLuca, Esteemed Loyal Knight Fran Chambers, Esteemed Lecturing Knight Dave Peterson, Secretary George Glomb, Treasurer Harry McGarrigel, Tiler Bob Kadelski and Five-Year Trustee John Waldron.

Your appointed officers are Inner Guard Pat Orchard, Chaplain Jay Mandes and Esquire Linda Fisher.

The target date for Installation of Officers is Palm Sunday, March 24, provided we have at least light, heat, a kitchen, restrooms and a service bar functioning by then. Come on out and help make it happen.

The secretary mailed out the dues notices yesterday, Feb. 21. Though they are payable by April 1, it would be greatly appreciated if you could pay them ASAP.  We need the money badly to help fund the Lodge restoration.  Thanks.

We end this week's column on a sad note by announcing the death of a member. Robert "Uncle Bob" Valinote has passed through the valley of shadows into a realm of eternal life. His faults we write upon the sand, his virtues on the tablets of love and memory. Rest well, "Uncle Bob."

Bye,

George
