This article is in reference to the old Republican régime members who were observed making political contributions to the Brigantine Democratic party at their recent Jimmy Buffett night held at the Laguna Grill on Wednesday, July 27.

With great astonishment we are amazed at Democratic Councilmen Schaffer, Kern and Pullella publicly embracing members of the old Republican régime (Councilmen Solari and Bonanni) who have helped create the animosity, the friction, the bad decisions and the contempt of politics that have decimated the trust of the people of our beautiful island.

They, on council, who criticize the “old Republican” councilmen now relish and embrace them. This is clearly the height of hypocrisy! This is truly a defining moment in the future of Brigantine and the upcoming and future elections.

Who is, or who are the real “hypocrites?” (An elected political person who is a hypocrite). Is it Schaffer, Kern and Pullella on the Democratic side? Or is it Solari and Bonanni on the old Republican régime side? As they embrace each other do the Democrats become the old Republican régime or do they become “Hypocrats”? Does the old régime of Solari and Bonanni become the Democrats or do they become the hypocrites? This was absolutely a bad decision by both parties involved. These are the types of bad decisions made by council that created the New Republican Club of Brigantine.

Be assured the New Republican Club was formed to serve the best interests of Brigantiners and not the special interests of a select few.
